Weaver's Needle

Weaver's Needle is a distinctive volcanic rock column rising roughly 1000 feet from the desert floor and displaying two separate spires depending on the viewing angle. The formation sits within the Superstition Mountains and stands out starkly against the surrounding terrain.

The formation took its name from mountain explorer Pauline Weaver and became the focal point of numerous expeditions starting in the 1800s as people hunted for the Lost Dutchman's Gold Mine. These search efforts shaped the region and turned this location into a legend in local history.
