Weaver's Needle, Summit formation in Superstition Mountains, Arizona.

The 1000-foot-high volcanic rock column rises from the desert floor, featuring two distinct spires visible from various angles in the Superstition Mountains landscape.

The formation received its name from mountain explorer Pauline Weaver and became central to numerous searches for the Lost Dutchman's Gold Mine during the 1800s.

The rock formation's shadow holds significance in regional folklore, with local stories suggesting it marks the location of substantial gold deposits.

Climbers access the formation through the Peralta Trail, following a challenging 8.1-mile round trip that requires technical climbing skills and proper safety equipment.

The summit contains established rappel stations and a fire ring, allowing climbers to document their experiences in registry books stored at the peak.
