Banco de Bogotá building

The Banco de Bogotá building is an office tower in downtown Bogotá featuring aluminum and glass facades. It contains 22 floors designed for corporate functions with modern facilities throughout.

The building was constructed between 1956 and 1959 by the renowned firm Skidmore, Owings and Merrill. It held the status of Bogotá's tallest structure for several years after completion.

The lobby features a monumental abstract relief called 'El Dorado' by Colombian sculptor Eduardo Ramírez Villamizar. This artwork shapes the character of the entrance and reflects how modern design merged with artistic expression in Colombia.

The building is located downtown and is easily accessible from central transport hubs. Keep in mind that this is an active office building, so public access is limited to certain areas.

The building pioneered American construction methods and materials in Colombia during the 1950s. Its building techniques influenced subsequent office towers in the city and established new standards for modern construction.
