El Tiempo Building stands on the south-eastern side of Carrera Séptima at Avenida Jiménez in Bogotá. Its plan is L-shaped and the facade is divided into three parts: the lowest holds the entrance vestibule, the main body has a large surface with rectangular openings for the display windows and vertical and horizontal elements in piedra bogotana, and the third body once held a solarium later added to the office area.

El Tiempo Building was inaugurated in 1961 to mark the 50th anniversary of the founding of the El Tiempo newspaper, with a design by architect Bruno Violi. It later housed the offices of the Citytv channel until 9 April 2008, when they moved to Ac. 26 #68B - 70. For 20 years it was also the set of the programme Bravíssimo, until the channel's move in 2021. Since 2020 the building has belonged to Universidad del Rosario.

The building served as the headquarters for El Tiempo, Colombia's most influential newspaper, shaping how journalism developed in the country. Its presence in downtown Bogotá made it a recognizable landmark for generations of readers and residents.

The building sits at the intersection of Carrera Séptima and Avenida Jiménez in the heart of downtown Bogotá and is easy to reach on foot. Today it functions as part of Universidad del Rosario, so viewing is best from the exterior.

The facade incorporates stone sourced from the Bogotá region, showing how modernist design principles were combined with locally available Colombian building materials. This material choice reflected architectural trends of the era across South America.
