Silva Poetry House, Poetry museum in La Candelaria, Colombia
The Silva Poetry House contains a specialized library, bookshop, music auditorium, and exhibition spaces displaying photographs and personal items of the poet.
The residence of Colombian poet José Asunción Silva was transformed into a cultural institution in 1986 under president Belisario Betancur's initiative.
The foundation organizes poetry reading sessions, workshops for schools and elderly groups, and publishes the annual Casa Silva magazine with literary works.
Located at Calle 12c Suite 3-41 in Bogotá, the museum operates Tuesday through Thursday from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM with guided tours available.
The building houses Colombia's sole bookstore dedicated to worldwide poetry collections and presents the José Asunción Silva prize for lifetime poetic achievements.
