Gabriel García Márquez Cultural Center

The Gabriel García Márquez Cultural Center is a modern building in the historic quarter that houses exhibition spaces, an amphitheater, and multiple levels linked by curved walkways. The facility contains an art gallery, bookstore, and several venues designed for cultural events and gatherings.

The facility opened in 2008 as a creation of architect Rogelio Salmona on land with deeper historical roots in the city. The site previously hosted one of the region's earliest educational institutions for girls during the colonial period.
