Teusaquillo

Teusaquillo is a locality in central Bogotá with numerous buildings of historical importance and many public parks throughout the area. The neighborhood sits at an elevation of approximately 2,600 meters above sea level.

The area developed from an indigenous reserve called Pueblo Viejo into an organized urban district during the 1920s as the city expanded. This transformation connected what were once separate zones into a coherent neighborhood.

The locality is home to several educational institutions, including portions of the National University campus, which brings students and researchers to the area. This academic presence shapes how the neighborhood develops and changes over time.

The area is connected to other parts of Bogotá through major roads such as Avenida Caracas and Avenida Carrera 68. Extensive bus services and bicycle paths make it easy to move around the locality.

The locality is home to Corferias, Colombia's largest exposition center, and El Campín stadium, where major national events and sports competitions take place regularly. Together these venues make it a hub for large gatherings.
