Parque Mirador de los Nevados, Urban park in Suba, Bogotá, Colombia.
Parque Mirador de los Nevados is an urban park in Suba situated at 2,641 meters (8,665 feet) elevation covering approximately 6 hectares. The grounds feature walking paths, viewing areas, and multiple plazas designed with names from Muisca cosmology, offering views of the Andean mountain range.
The site originally served as a cemetery for the Muisca people and later became farmland used for water extraction. After decades of use as a quarry, the land was eventually transformed into a park in the early 2000s, now honoring the area's indigenous past.
The park's name comes from the Muisca language and refers to the view of snow-capped peaks. Several plazas within the space bear indigenous names that reflect the spiritual beliefs and history of the people who originally inhabited this land.
The park is easily accessible from Suba's central area by walking north from the main plaza and following signs toward the entrance. The grounds are walkable with several routes available, and the viewing points are best visited on clear days when visibility is at its best.
On clear days, visitors can spot four snow-capped peaks from the observation points: Tolima, Cisne, Ruiz, and Santa Isabel. This view highlights the park's position within the Andean range and offers a rare perspective of Colombia's high mountain landscape from within the city.
