The Steinvorth Building exhibits architectural elements combining European aesthetics with American-inspired modernism, featuring ornamental details and organic shapes throughout its structure.
Built in 1907 by Italian architect Francesco Tenca, the building served as a prominent import store until World War II when it was seized from its German immigrant owners.
The building functions as a multipurpose space housing art galleries, a photography studio, a record store, a bookshop, a theater, and a concert hall.
Located between Avenida Central and Calle 1 in San José, the building contains thirteen commercial spaces, including cafes, restaurants, and specialty shops.
A metal skylight with glass panels illuminates the interior of this brick building, which retains only twenty percent of its original structure.
