Moravia Canton is an administrative canton in San José Province located in the northern region at an elevation of 1,396 meters. The territory spans approximately 29 square kilometers and is divided into three districts.
This territory gained its administrative status on July 31, 1914, when it was officially established as the fourteenth canton of San José Province. This designation marked a significant step in the region's administrative development.
The central district of San Vicente hosts traditional celebrations each April 5th, featuring religious ceremonies and processions honoring Saint Vincent Ferrer. These events shape the local calendar and bring residents together throughout the year.
