Church of la Purísima, Yurécuaro

The Church of la Purísima features a tall slender tower with cross-shaped paraboloids and a main nave constructed with red quarry stone.

The construction of the current church building began in 1805 and reached completion in 1808, replacing an earlier structure from the 16th century.

A commemorative arch erected in 1921 stands in front of the church, marking both Mexico's independence centennial and the Trigarante army's passage through Yurécuaro.
