Zacapu Lagoon

Zacapu Lagoon is a freshwater body that covers about 33 hectares in the middle of the city. Twenty natural springs feed it year-round, keeping the water level steady regardless of the season.

The lagoon gained international attention in 2004 when it was recognized as a wetland site of global importance. This designation highlighted how valuable it is for protecting water resources.
