Estadio Luis "Pirata" Fuente, football (soccer) stadium in Veracruz, Veracruz, Mexico, home venue for Tiburones Rojos de Veracruz
Estadio Luis "Pirata" Fuente is an association football venue in Veracruz, Mexico, with steep stands arranged closely around the playing field. The structure was fully rebuilt between 2022 and 2025 and now has gray seating, updated lighting rigs, and reworked entry points around the perimeter.
The stadium was built in 1968 by architect Juan Arrieta under the name Estadio Veracruzano. It served as the home ground of the Tiburones Rojos for several decades before the club was dissolved in 2019 following financial difficulties.
The stadium carries the name of Luis "Pirata" Fuente, a coach from the region who remains a familiar figure in the city's memory. On match days, the steep stands fill quickly and the crowd creates a noise that can be felt throughout the surrounding streets.
The stadium sits along Paseo Jacarandas and is reachable by car or public transit without much difficulty. Shops and small eateries are available in the surrounding area, making it easy to arrive early or linger after a match.
A large shark-mouth design covers the western facade, a direct reference to the Tiburones Rojos whose name means Red Sharks. Many visitors stop to photograph this entrance before going inside, as it stands out from the rest of the building.
