Estadio Monterrey, Association football stadium in Guadalupe, Mexico
Estadio Monterrey is an association football stadium in Guadalupe within the Monterrey metropolitan area of Mexico, offering seating for over 50,000 spectators. A cantilevered roof made of aluminum panels extends over the seating rows and shields visitors from intense sun exposure during matches.
The facility opened in early August 2015 when CF Monterrey faced Benfica in a friendly match. Construction began as a replacement for an older stadium and marked a turning point in the local football club's infrastructure.
The name recalls the financial institution that acquired naming rights, while locals frequently visit the venue during CF Monterrey home matches. On game days, supporters gather in the stands to cheer the team in blue and white colors and sing club anthems together.
The stands rise at a steep angle so visitors have an unobstructed view of the pitch from every position. Shade is provided by the overhanging roof, which offers protection on hot days and shelter when it rains.
As the first football stadium in North America, the facility received silver certification for environmentally friendly construction and resource conservation. The water management system collects rainwater to irrigate the pitch and significantly reduces consumption from the municipal network.
