The Galleria is a four-level shopping center in Houston with roughly 400 stores, restaurants, and an ice-skating rink beneath a glass atrium. The complex stretches across several building wings with wide corridors and galleries connected on every level.
The center opened in November 1970 as the first Texan shopping facility combining covered retail space with leisure amenities under one roof. Expansions over the following decades added new wings and luxury brands that established Houston as a commercial hub.
This mall brings luxury fashion from Europe and Asia that shoppers explore within a Texan metropolis setting. Business professionals meet for lunch under the glass dome while families from across the region travel here for weekend shopping trips.
The complex opens daily from 10 AM to 9 PM and offers several entrances plus electric vehicle charging stations in the parking areas. Visitors can orient themselves at the information desk on ground level and pick up a map to locate specific stores more quickly.
The ice-skating rink sits right at the center of the building beneath a multi-story glass dome, allowing skaters to practice in daylight under subtropical outdoor temperatures. On weekends you often see children spinning in T-shirts while outside temperatures exceed 86 degrees (30 Celsius).
