Memorial Park, Municipal park in Harris County, Texas.
Memorial Park is a large municipal green space in Harris County offering tennis courts, sports fields, a fitness facility, and a swimming pool. The grounds also feature mountain biking routes and various outdoor recreation options for visitors.
The grounds originally served as Camp Logan, a World War I training facility. After the war, it was officially converted and named Memorial Park in 1924.
The Houston Arboretum and Nature Center within Memorial Park offers educational programs about local flora and fauna through interactive exhibits.
The main pathway through the grounds is clearly marked, making it easy for visitors to navigate and explore. Different sections are well-connected and visitors can move between various activity areas without difficulty.
The Clay Family Eastern Glades features a wide pedestrian promenade surrounded by native grasslands and a reflective pond. This quieter area is often overlooked by visitors but offers a retreat from the busier sections of the grounds.
