Beer Can House, Folk art house in Rice Military, Houston, USA.

The Beer Can House is a residence in Houston whose exterior walls and yard incorporate more than 50,000 flattened beer cans as decoration. The cans form metallic patterns across the facade, roof, and ground surfaces.

Owner John Milkovisch began transforming the house in 1968, first laying marbles and stones in concrete. Over the years, collecting and installing beer cans became the primary focus, turning the entire structure into a recycled art project.

The house shows how personal passion can transform into architecture. The creator turned everyday consumer products into lasting decoration, making his home a reflection of his collecting drive.

The house is open Wednesday through Sunday from 10 AM to 4 PM, with tours provided by a local arts center. Wear comfortable shoes and allow time to examine the details up close.

The aluminum garlands made from beer cans on the exterior walls function as natural cooling, lowering the building's temperature on hot summer days. This unexpected feature shows how decoration can serve a practical purpose.
