Texas Technological College Dairy Barn

The Texas Tech Dairy Barn is an L-shaped building with stuccoed exterior walls, a freestanding grain silo, and exposed rafters in American Craftsman style. The structure underwent extensive restoration starting in 2017, with new roofing installed and structural improvements completed.

The barn was built between 1926 and 1927 as a teaching facility for dairy production and livestock management. It played an active role in university operations during the early decades of agricultural education at the institution.

The barn demonstrates how agricultural education operated in the early 1900s, with hands-on learning at the center of daily activities. Visitors can see the spaces where students performed routine tasks like milking and animal care.

The barn is located on the Texas Tech campus and is easy to reach when walking through the grounds. Visitors should explore the surrounding area to fully appreciate the building's architecture from different angles.
