D. A. "Andy" Anderson Arboretum

The D. A. Anderson Arboretum spreads across 17 acres and features collections of native Texas plants and trees arranged along trails with interpretive signs. The space includes specialized sections designed to show the diversity of plant species found throughout the state.

The site was established in 1976 as the Brazos County Arboretum during the USA Bicentennial celebration and received its present name in 1986. This renaming reflected growth and a shift in how the garden was managed and presented to the public.

The garden sits on Anderson Street and offers free entry for daily visits at any time. Wearing comfortable walking shoes is helpful since the trails pass through different types of terrain.
