KDFI, MyNetworkTV station in the Dallas–Fort Worth Metroplex
KDFI is a television station in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, broadcasting on channel 27 and operated by Fox Television Stations. Its main studio sits in downtown Dallas on North Griffin Street, and its transmitter tower is located in Cedar Hill.
The station started in January 1981 as KTWS-TV with a subscription television model and switched to commercial broadcasting in August 1984 under the name KDFI-TV. After several ownership changes and a bankruptcy in the 1990s, it became part of Fox Television Stations.
The station is known today as Fox 4 More and carries programming from My Network TV, including movies, classic game shows, and action series. Viewers in the Dallas area encounter it as a familiar part of everyday television watching.
The station is available over the air and through cable or satellite services such as Dish Network and DirecTV. If you are unsure about signal coverage in your area, a standard indoor antenna is usually enough to find out.
The station is planning to move its production facilities from downtown Dallas to Irving, with construction expected to run from 2025 to 2027. This would mark the first time in decades that it operates from a completely new location.
