Cedar Hill State Park, State park in Cedar Hill, Texas

Cedar Hill State Park covers 1,826 acres on the eastern shore of Joe Pool Lake in Cedar Hill, Texas. It lies where the cross timbers and blackland prairie ecoregions meet, with limestone hills and prairie grasslands. The park has two camping areas, a boat ramp, two fishing piers, and a small picnic area.

The park contains the Penn Farm Agricultural History Center, which documents Texas farming history from the 1850s through the mid-20th century. This center displays how agricultural methods and farm life evolved over generations.

The park's name comes from the cedar-covered hills around Cedar Hill. The Penn Farm Agricultural History Center keeps the name of John Wesley Penn, who started the farm in 1859; the family ran it until 1970, and the site now holds reconstructed and historic buildings plus displays of farm equipment from the late 1800s to the mid-1900s.

The park has developed campgrounds with electrical and water hookups plus bathrooms with hot showers located near the lake. Most facilities are easy to access throughout the main areas.

The DORBA Trail was designed, built and maintained by the Dallas Off-Road Bike Association. Its three concentric loops of 3, 8 and 12 miles are ridden clockwise by bikers, while hikers walk them counterclockwise.
