Mr. Freeze, Hypercoaster at Six Flags Over Texas in Arlington, US.
Mr. Freeze is a steel roller coaster at Six Flags Over Texas that launches riders using a linear induction motor, accelerating from standstill to 70 miles per hour (113 km/h) in under four seconds. The track climbs through tight turns and a large vertical loop before returning backward to the starting point.
Built by Premier Rides in 1998, the coaster opened a year later than planned due to technical delays. Since 2023, one train runs forward while another travels backward, creating two distinct ride experiences.
Its theme draws from a Batman villain known for freezing everything around him, and the track passes through sections decorated to resemble frozen factory interiors. Riders enter a world where pipes, machinery and walls appear coated in layers of ice.
Riders must meet a minimum height requirement to board, and loose items should be stored securely before entering the queue. Two separate loading platforms allow trains to be loaded and unloaded at the same time, reducing wait times during busy periods.
The coaster reaches its highest point not through a climb but by the force of the launch itself, propelling riders directly into a vertical spike over 200 feet (61 m) tall. After completing the circuit, the train rolls backward through the same elements, giving each ride two opposite perspectives.
