Aquaman: Power Wave, Steel roller coaster at Six Flags Over Texas in Arlington, US.
Aquaman: Power Wave is a steel roller coaster at Six Flags Over Texas that propels riders backward and forward across more than 700 feet of track while reaching speeds above 60 miles per hour. Two boats with about twenty seats each operate on a turntable system and navigate steep plunges along the route.
Construction started in 2020 but faced delays from pandemic lockdowns and supply chain disruptions, with opening finally occurring in 2023. It replaced a previous water coaster that had operated at the same location for many years.
The ride takes its name from the DC Comics character Aquaman and stands where an older water attraction once operated near the park entrance.
The ride can get quite wet during operation, so visitors should expect water exposure and bring appropriate clothing or a change of clothes. Arriving early in the day tends to mean shorter wait times.
This water coaster was North America's first with dual launch propulsion systems that accelerate riders twice from within the track itself. The design allows boats to travel in both directions and experience water drops from heights around 150 feet.
