Justin, city in the United States
Justin is a small city in Denton County, in the northern part of the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area in Texas. The city has a mostly residential layout, with local schools, parks, and a modest commercial strip along the main road.
Justin was founded in the late 1800s and named after H.J. Justin, a bootmaker who had set up shop there and whose business would later become a well-known brand. Over the following century, the town grew slowly from a small rural stop into a suburban community within the expanding Dallas-Fort Worth area.
Justin is known as the birthplace of a major American cowboy boot brand, and this connection to Western wear is woven into the local identity. Shops and references to this heritage can still be noticed around town today.
Justin is easiest to reach by car, with access from Interstate 35W connecting it to the broader Dallas-Fort Worth area. Public transportation is limited, so having a vehicle is the most practical way to get around and explore the town.
The city takes its name from a bootmaker, H.J. Justin, who set up his workshop there in 1879 and went on to build a brand that became a leading name in Western boots across North America. He eventually moved his business to another city, but the town kept his name.
