Pincus Building, Bauwerk in den Vereinigten Staaten

The Pincus Building is a four-story commercial structure in Mobile, Alabama, constructed in 1891 in the late Victorian style. It features detailed brickwork and architectural elements characteristic of that era, designed by architect Rudolf Benz.

The building was constructed in 1891 as the headquarters of the Zadek Jewelry Company and became a prominent center for local commerce. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1976, gaining official recognition for its historical significance.

The building originally served as the center of operations for the Zadek Jewelry Company and shaped local commerce for generations. It reminds residents of the era when local shops formed the backbone of the community's economic life.

The building is located on South Royal Street in downtown Mobile and is easily accessible from the street. Visitors can view the facade and its architectural details while exploring the nearby historic sites and shops in the area.

The building originally featured a tower with a pointed roof on one corner that was removed in the 1940s, giving it a distinctive appearance. The tower was known to have a clock and decorative features that made it easy for people to recognize it from a distance.
