The Mississippi Armed Forces Museum contains eight galleries displaying military equipment, weapons, clothing, medals, and outdoor exhibits of aircraft and tanks.
The museum emerged from a small collection of war artifacts in a Camp Shelby warehouse in 1984, expanding to a 23,000-square-foot facility in 2001.
The museum exhibits present the contributions of Mississippi veterans through 17,000 artifacts, 4,500 military history volumes, and 2,000 historical documents.
Visitors can explore the museum from Tuesday to Saturday between 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM, with free admission and guided tours available.
The Hall of Honor recognizes 28 Mississippi Medal of Honor recipients through personal stories, photographs, and military service records.
