All-American Rose Garden, Rose garden at University of Southern Mississippi, Hattiesburg, United States.
The All-American Rose Garden is a rose garden at the University of Southern Mississippi containing about 800 individual rose bushes arranged in 32 separate beds near the administration building. The beds are organized by different rose varieties and hybrids, creating a well-planned layout.
The Hattiesburg Area Rose Society founded the garden in 1973 and received official recognition from All-American Rose Selections, Inc in 1975. This accreditation established it as an officially recognized testing facility for new rose varieties.
The garden serves as a testing ground where growers evaluate new rose varieties and develop improved plants. You can observe how different hybrids perform and which ones might become tomorrow's garden favorites.
The garden is open to visitors daily and free to enter without any advance booking needed. Keep in mind that picking flowers is prohibited and can result in significant penalties.
The site holds around 800 different rose plants, making it one of the largest collections of its kind in southern Mississippi. This concentration allows visitors to observe rare and newly developed varieties all in one location.
