Crenshaw High School, Public high school in Hyde Park district, Los Angeles, California, US.
Crenshaw High School is a public high school serving grades 9 through 12 in the Hyde Park neighborhood of Los Angeles, California. The campus operates within the Los Angeles Unified School District and provides academic coursework alongside athletic and arts programs for approximately 750 students.
The school opened in 1968 to serve families from Baldwin Hills and Leimert Park seeking access to secondary education. In the following decades, the campus adapted to shifting demographics and evolving educational priorities across South Los Angeles.
The name honors George W. Crenshaw, a deputy city engineer who worked on Los Angeles water projects in the early 20th century. Students and alumni often identify with the Cougar mascot, wearing the school colors of blue and gold at events across the neighborhood.
Visitors should arrange an appointment in advance, as access to school buildings is restricted during instructional hours. Parking is available along adjacent streets, and the main entrance sits at the southern end of the campus.
The campus gymnasium appeared in the 2006 film Bring It On: All or Nothing, with the production team using the space for dance and cheer competition scenes. Years earlier, the same facilities served as a backdrop for multiple episodes of the television series Moesha.
