Webb County Courthouse, County courthouse in Laredo, Texas, US

The Webb County Courthouse is a judicial building in Laredo featuring yellow brick walls, white stone trim, and red mansard roofs with Mediterranean-style floor tiles throughout. The interior contains ornamental wrought iron staircases and substantial wood doors fitted with brass hardware.

A fire destroyed the original courthouse in 1906, after which architect Alfred Giles won a design competition in 1907 to create the replacement. The new building was completed in 1909 and has stood as a landmark since.

The building displays a stained glass window showing Justice holding scales, reflecting the courthouse's purpose as a place where the community gathers for legal matters.

The courthouse sits downtown and is easily accessible on foot from the main commercial area. Note that this is an active courthouse, so access to certain interior spaces may be limited depending on court schedules.

The grounds feature pecan and citrus trees that bring a natural element to the downtown setting. The mansard roofline is topped with carved stone ram heads, an unusual decorative flourish that adds character to the building's design.
