The Gothic-style church building on West Anderson Lane stands between Interstate 35 and Lamar Boulevard, featuring a modern sanctuary with angled pews.
The congregation traces its roots to the first Swedish Lutheran liturgy in Austin on December 12, 1868, with scholar Swante Palm as chairman.
The sanctuary displays numerous stained glass windows created by French artist Gabriel Loire, incorporating more than 150 shades of blue to tell biblical narratives.
The church campus includes multiple facilities such as a multipurpose gymnasium, educational wing, memorial garden, and four outdoor playgrounds for children.
The building contains five tile mosaics depicting biblical scenes, with two positioned above the lower level entrance and three inside the main entrance.
