The Seven Mustangs, Bronze sculpture at University of Texas, Austin, United States.
The Seven Mustangs presents seven life-size horses in bronze, depicting their movement as they descend from a mountain slope at the university campus.
Commissioned in 1937 by Ralph Ogden, the sculpture faced delays due to World War II metal shortages and was finally installed in 1948.
The bronze horses represent the Texas heritage of wild mustangs, connecting modern viewers to the state's ranching and frontier traditions.
Located along San Jacinto Boulevard near the Texas Memorial Museum, the sculpture stands on a granite base with inscriptions about mustang history.
Students maintain a tradition of covering the sculpture with nets during football games between the Longhorns and SMU Mustangs teams.
