San Cristóbal Province

San Cristóbal Province extends from the Caribbean Sea to the Cordillera Central mountains, featuring rivers like Haina, Nizao, and Nigua across its territory.

The province, established in 1932, was initially named Trujillo and received its current designation following the assassination of the dictator in 1961.

The provincial capital, San Cristóbal city, holds national importance as the location where the first Dominican Republic constitution was signed in 1844.
