Santo Domingo Dominican Republic Temple

The white granite temple extends across 67,000 square feet with a single spire topped by an angel Moroni statue at 132 feet elevation.

Construction of the temple began in August 1996 under the direction of Richard G. Scott and reached completion with its dedication in September 2000.

The temple serves members from multiple Caribbean nations, including Haiti and Puerto Rico, offering ceremonies and services in different languages.

The temple includes four instruction rooms, four sealing rooms, a baptistry, and provides on-site accommodations for visitors requiring overnight stays.

This religious structure stands as the first temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints built in the Caribbean region.
