Mauricio Báez Bridge, Cable-stayed bridge in San Pedro de Macorís, Dominican Republic
The Mauricio Báez Bridge is a cable-stayed structure that crosses the Higuamo River and connects the areas on both sides of the valley. The design uses steel cables anchored to a central tower to support the roadway above the river below.
The bridge opened in 2007 and replaced an older crossing that previously served the area. Its construction received government backing and presidential approval before completion.
