The Kenwood Historic District spans 375 acres with over 2,200 historic buildings featuring Mediterranean Revival, Craftsman Bungalow, and Tudor Revival architectural styles.
The neighborhood experienced rapid growth during the Florida Land Boom of the 1920s, becoming one of the first suburban developments outside downtown St. Petersburg.
The district houses an Artist Enclave that organizes exhibitions and events, making it a center for creative expression in St. Petersburg.
Preservation incentives are available to property owners within the district to maintain and restore historic structures according to established guidelines.
More than half of the residential structures in Kenwood are bungalows, creating a uniform architectural character throughout the neighborhood.
