Florida's 15th congressional district, Electoral district in Tampa suburbs, United States.
Florida's 15th congressional district covers parts of Hillsborough, Pasco, and Polk counties, encompassing suburbs and communities surrounding Tampa. The district includes both developed urban areas and less populated regions that stretch across central Florida.
The district underwent significant boundary changes in 2015 through redistricting after previously including Kennedy Space Center. This redrawing shifted its geographic focus westward toward the Tampa metropolitan area.
The district population reflects multiple demographic groups with 51.1% White, 25.2% Hispanic, 13.7% Black, and 5.2% Asian residents.
The district sits in a region with good road access and transportation hubs connecting Tampa and the surrounding counties. Visitors and residents can reach the various communities throughout the area relatively easily by car.
About ten years ago this district included major military and space facilities before boundary changes removed them from its territory. Today only historical records recall that earlier connection to space exploration history.
