Howey-in-the-Hills, Administrative division in Lake County, Florida, United States.

Howey-in-the-Hills is a town in Lake County founded by a developer who built a grand mansion and surrounding residential areas. The place sits among rolling terrain and citrus groves that still shape the landscape today.

William John Howey founded this settlement in 1925 with his estate and an innovative processing facility for agricultural products. The town changed its name in 1927 to better reflect its location in a hilly area.

The Mediterranean Revival mansion from 1925 shows how wealthy developers shaped the local architectural style in the early 1900s. Walking through the town, you can still see this influence in the historic buildings that define the character of the place.

The town sits on Florida State Road 19, which connects it to nearby communities in both directions. The area is walkable in parts, and you can easily spot the historic mansion and main structures without difficulty.

In 1921, Florida's first citrus juice processing plant opened at this location, marking an important step forward in farm technology. This innovation helped put the area on the map as a center for modern agricultural production.
