The Miniature White House, Miniature presidential residence at Presidents Hall of Fame in Clermont, Florida
The Miniature White House is a scale replica built at one inch to one foot, reproducing every room and office space with exacting detail. The model includes the East Wing, West Wing, and Oval Office, all furnished with handcrafted pieces and authentic decorative elements.
John and Jan Zweifel started constructing this detailed model in 1962, dedicating years to match the original White House specifications. The work required extensive research and skilled craftsmanship to achieve such precision.
This miniature structure displays the interior arrangement and furnishings of the White House, showing spaces that regular visitors cannot access. It offers a rare look into both the private quarters and working areas of a presidential residence.
The model is compact enough to view from different angles, yet detailed enough that visitors can spot finer elements upon closer inspection. It is best enjoyed by taking time to walk around it slowly and examine the craftsmanship from multiple viewpoints.
The model has traveled through all 50 states and multiple countries, making it one of the most widely exhibited architectural scale models. During a display in the Netherlands, it sustained damage from vandalism and underwent extensive restoration work.
