Rainbow Springs State Park

Rainbow Springs State Park is a large natural area in Marion County with multiple springs that flow year-round and create clear freshwater zones. These waters connect to streams that feed into a larger river system.

The area served as a gathering place for indigenous communities for centuries before transforming into a private tourist facility in the mid-20th century. This shift shaped it into the place visitors see today.

The park preserves three human-made waterfalls and ornamental gardens that reflect the region's tourism development during the 1900s.

Visitors can rent canoes and tubes on many days throughout the year, with swimming available in designated areas at any time. Water conditions are most favorable during warmer months, though the clear water remains accessible year-round.

The spring system produces millions of gallons of water daily and ranks among the largest of its kind in the state. This substantial volume feeds the entire river network flowing through the land.
