Miami Freedom Park, Soccer stadium in Miami, United States
Miami Freedom Park is a sports complex with a soccer stadium seating 25,000 within a site covering around 131 acres (53 hectares) near Miami International Airport. The development also includes retail areas, several public training pitches, and open outdoor zones connecting players and visitors.
The City of Miami Commission approved the development in April 2022 after voters supported the project with a 60 percent majority during a referendum in 2019. The Governor of Florida granted funding for infrastructure improvements around the future stadium in August 2024.
The park takes its name Freedom from the idea of open space and community sport for all residents in the area. Public soccer fields draw youth teams and neighborhood players throughout the week, so families often watch matches from the sidelines after school or during weekends.
The site sits at a location served by Tri-Rail and Metrorail connections, so arrival by public transport is available from much of the city. Construction work is expected to finish by the end of 2026, after which training pitches and outdoor areas will open to the public.
The complex rises on the site of a former golf course that was privately used for decades and now opens for public sports activities. The funding for infrastructure includes around 8 million dollars granted by the state in August 2024.
