VelociCoaster is a black steel roller coaster with two magnetic launches, a 155-foot (47 m) top hat, four inversions, and a top speed of 70 mph (110 km/h). Its track passes through a grey stone archway bearing a fossil skull emblem, and a second arch is supported by dark-grey columns with a claw logo.
Opening on June 10, 2021, VelociCoaster replaced the former Triceratops Encounter attraction and was manufactured by Intamin as part of Universal Orlando's expansion of high-thrill attractions in the Jurassic Park themed area.
The coaster integrates characters and storylines from the Jurassic World film franchise, featuring detailed animatronic velociraptors and themed queue areas that immerse guests in the cinematic universe of dinosaur training and adventure.
The queue starts outside the lower floor of the Discovery Center, where two raptor statues stand at the entrance; an outdoor overflow area offers shade, cooling fans and close views of the track. Lockers with a two-way design let riders store loose articles on one side and retrieve them on the other after the ride, and a family room nearby lets non-riders wait.
The final barrel roll passes over the lagoon at 70 mph (110 km/h), the ride's top speed. The archway below the track carries a circular emblem with a fossil skull in profile, and a second emblem on the columns shows a stylized claw.
