Marvel Super Hero Island, Theme park in Universal's Islands of Adventure, Florida
The attraction features The Incredible Hulk Coaster, The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man, Doctor Doom's Fearfall, and Storm Force Accelatron within a comic-styled environment.
Universal Studios secured rights to Marvel characters in 1994 and inaugurated Marvel Super Hero Island as part of Islands of Adventure on May 28, 1999.
The area includes character interactions with Spider-Man, Captain America, and other Marvel heroes who appear throughout the streets for photographs and performances.
Visitors can dine at Captain America Diner or Cafe 4, while Marvel merchandise is available at the Alterniverse Store and character-specific retail locations.
The buildings feature Chrome-Illusion paint that changes color depending on sunlight angles, creating an effect that matches comic book art styles.
