The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, Theme park attraction in Universal Orlando Resort, United States
The Wizarding World of Harry Potter is a themed area spread across two parks at Universal Orlando Resort in Florida. The two sections are located in Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure, linked by the Hogwarts Express that travels between recreated locations Hogsmeade and Diagon Alley.
The first section opened in 2010 at Islands of Adventure, featuring Hogsmeade and Hogwarts castle. The second phase followed in 2014 at Universal Studios Florida with Diagon Alley and King's Cross station.
Butterbeer comes in several versions, hot or cold, and tastes like caramel with creamy foam on top. Visitors can enter Ollivanders wand shop for a short show where a wand chooses its owner.
A ticket covering both parks is needed to ride the train between the two sections. The best time to visit is early morning right after opening or late evening before closing when crowds thin out.
In Diagon Alley, you can see a real dragon that breathes fire regularly and emerges from the Gringotts Bank building. The shop windows of some stores display moving figures and objects that react to visitor movements.
