Race Through New York Starring Jimmy Fallon, Motion simulator at Universal Studios Florida, United States
Race Through New York Starring Jimmy Fallon is a motion simulator at Universal Studios Florida that guides visitors through a digital version of New York City. The movements of the seats follow the images on the screen and show streets, buildings and familiar places around the city.
The attraction opened in April 2017 on the site where Twister Ride It Out once stood. Filming for the projection took place in the NBC Studios of New York, where The Tonight Show is also produced.
The ride brings guests into the world of The Tonight Show and shows elements from Jimmy Fallon's real television studio in New York. Memorabilia from earlier NBC hosts hangs in the waiting areas and recalls decades of American late-night entertainment.
Children under 122 cm (48 inches) must be accompanied by an adult, and the seats move in sync with the images on the screen. Through the Universal Orlando app, guests can use a Virtual Line and book a return time without standing in the physical queue.
During the ride, the system produces scents like pizza and steam from manholes that are common in the real streets of Manhattan. At one point, the vehicles transform into hovering craft and fly over the rooftops of the city all the way into space.
