Universal Studios Florida, Movie theme park in Orlando, United States
Universal Studios Florida is a theme park in Orlando that recreates scenes and settings from well-known films and television series across eight themed zones. Each area contains rides, live performances, and built environments designed to resemble locations from those productions.
The park opened on June 7, 1990, as the first part of what became Universal Orlando Resort. E.T. Adventure has operated since opening day and remains the oldest ride still running in the park.
The park serves as a place where movie fans gather to experience stories they know from screens in a physical space. Performers dress as film characters and interact with guests throughout the day, creating moments that blur the line between audience and participant.
Tickets can be purchased online or at the entrance, and the park is reachable by car, shuttle buses, and trains that run within the resort complex. Arriving early in the day often means shorter waits for popular rides, especially before midday crowds gather.
The recreation of Diagon Alley from Harry Potter includes a roller coaster inside the Gringotts bank that combines motion with projected storytelling. This ride uses technology developed specifically for this installation and found nowhere else.
