Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit, Steel roller coaster at Universal Studios Florida, United States
Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit is a steel roller coaster at Universal Studios Florida in Orlando. The track runs 3800 feet (1158 meters), climbs to 167 feet (51 meters) and accelerates to 65 miles per hour (105 kilometers per hour).
The attraction opened in August 2009 after completion by German manufacturer Maurer Söhne. It was the largest X-Coaster installation in the company's history at that time.
Each seat comes with a sound system that lets riders choose their own song from five different genres. The personal selection plays throughout the ride, making every run an individual experience with its own soundtrack.
Visitors between 51 and 79 inches tall must store belongings in free lockers and pass through security screening before boarding. Three queue options are available, including an express alternative for shorter wait times.
The track passes through several elements named after musical symbols, including a helix called Treble Clef and a special loop called Double Take. This non-inverting loop sends riders through the same structure twice without completely flipping the seats upside down.
