Universal CityWalk Orlando, Shopping and entertainment district in Orlando, United States
Universal CityWalk Orlando is a pedestrian area with shops, restaurants and entertainment venues in Orlando, Florida. A red and grey walkway runs between buildings, and a curved green structure with gold lettering marks the food and shopping section.
The complex opened in 1999 and was built on former parking lots belonging to Universal Studios Florida. It became the connecting point between the parking garages and the two theme parks, Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure.
The promenade mixes dining and live shows, with places like a reggae tribute venue and a club that hosts music performances. Visitors walking through often notice how the different facades and signs give each stretch its own mood, from casual eateries to louder nightspots.
The area is designed as a single walkable stretch, so you can reach the whole complex without needing a car once you arrive. Warm weather is common, so wearing light clothing and carrying water makes moving between venues easier.
A metal tower with a red flag stands at one end of the walkway, easy to miss among the larger signs and facades. The district also sits directly over the former parking area, so the entire entertainment strip now occupies land once used only for cars.
