Mount Zion AME Church

Mount Zion AME Church is a brick structure featuring arched windows, a prominent bell tower, and decorative brick patterns across its exterior. The building has a sturdy appearance, with a crenellated roofline that gives it a fortress-like quality.

The congregation was founded in 1866 by formerly enslaved people and constructed this building in 1905 following the Great Fire of 1901. This reconstruction demonstrates the community's resilience and determination to rebuild after significant loss.
