The Karpeles Manuscript Library Museum occupies a 1921 Classical Revival building with monumental Doric columns and original stained glass windows.
David and Marsha Karpeles established this museum in 1992 as part of their network of institutions displaying the largest private manuscript collection worldwide.
The museum presented three to four exhibits yearly from their collection of documents spanning literature, science, religion, political history, and exploration.
The museum remained open from Tuesday through Friday between 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM, with Saturday hours extending until 4:00 PM.
The former First Church of Christ Scientist building retained its altar area, gallery seating, and a specialized library containing religious and medical texts.
