Constructed in 1923 during the Florida real estate boom, the building operated as upscale apartments before transforming into the Ambassador Hotel in 1955.
The Georgian Revival architecture incorporates limestone trim against red brick facades, featuring classical symmetry and an arched pediment on the Church Street elevation.
The building received National Register of Historic Places designation in 1983 with registration number 83001421, marking its architectural and historical value.
The entrance displays large rusticated ashlar stonework with a scroll keystone, while the floor plan allows most units to occupy corner positions.
