Masonic Temple

The Masonic Temple at 410 Broad Street displays geometric forms and decorative details characteristic of the Chicago School architectural movement from the early 1900s. The building houses retail spaces and office areas that remain open to the public.

The Most Worshipful Union Grand Lodge constructed the building between 1901 and 1912 as a major structure in downtown Jacksonville. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1980, marking its importance in the city's early development.

The temple serves as headquarters for the Most Worshipful Union Grand Lodge of Florida and Belize, coordinating activities for Prince Hall Masonic organizations in the region. Members gather here for lodge meetings and fraternal ceremonies.

The building is centrally located downtown and easily reached by foot from surrounding streets. Retail areas are generally accessible during business hours, though private events may occasionally restrict public access.

The cornerstone holds historical items including Grand Lodge proceedings, rosters of local lodges, period coins, and newspaper clippings. This time capsule records the community that built the structure in the early 1900s.
